7th Grade is continuing to study the 6 traits of writing and their qualities that make these traits unique!
First, we learned about how the voice trait is the tone/attitude the writer coveys about a certain topic. It can also show emotion & personality!

After voice, we moved on to "Word Choice" which presents the reader with vivid, rich and precise language! In other words, it "paints a picture" in the readers minds.
Students and I read poems by Shel Silverstein & Jack Prelutsky. We highlighted words, phrases and figurative language that really stood out to us as a reader. Afterwards, we used the poem "Gloppe's Soup Shoppe" by Jack Prelutsky as a model for coming up with our own concept of a resturant & menu!
