(This post was originally published on 8/26/15, but was updated to showcase more student work!)
What an exciting week we've had!! It's been great getting to know everyone and meeting those of you who came to Parent Info Night on Monday!
Needless to say, even though it's been just a week... The kids and I have been busy!! Take a look below to see what we've been up too!!
Afterwards, students completed an exit card as a group & answered these questions...
1. What is essential to make a team successful?
2. What were the results of this activity? How did you do?
3. If you could change anything about the design, what would you do differently?
Afterwards, we shared our exit cards as a group! Kids did a great job with participation & effort!
8th Grade also had the opportunity to work on a common core informational writing project using the writing process! I dubbed this the "Autobiography Map". Students had to use the first initial of their first name, at least 5 symbols to show interests, hobbies, etc, a key, compass and create a paragraph or two explaining WHY they chose their symbols! I was so impressed with their work! I snapped a few shots... Check em' out!!
I know, right?? BRILLANT work!
Can't wait to see what the year brings!!
Until next time,
Ritchie
