The countdown has begun and I have been busy getting everything organized for the start of the year! This afternoon, I made blue and silver lanterns that will hang from the ceiling with music notes dangling from the bottom. I also planned out all my classes first week activities. I AM SO EXCITED!! We will be conducting experiments, playing pre-assessment games, starting the individual quarter reading project and getting to know one another! Many of my ideas were inspiration from Pinterest and activities from years past. I don't want to spoil it for the kids (if I have any readers..) but I promise I will post pictures and explain the activities once we complete them! I also discovered this awesome tool to help parents know when homework and daily assignments are due. Most of the time, when I do have a student that struggles with turning work in on time (or never), some parents respond with "I had no idea he/she had homework. " "He/she never brings it home." She/he said he/she turned it in". Well, this resource REMIND101 will help those parents know when work is due and be updated right away. All the parent or student has to do is text my number and an automated message will go out when an assignment is due! GENIUS! A fellow co-worker told me in the spring last year... I hope this new change will save a lot of headache!! :) Only 17 more days left until summer officially ends! I have much more to do and less time to do it in! Lesson planning and surprise... surprise... more lesson planning. Can't wait to get into my classroom on Monday and start the beginning of the year process. Until next time,
